Glossary

To help you better understand our business and the carbon credit market, this glossary provides clear explanations of a wide range of terms—from fundamental concepts such as climate change mitigation and GX (Green Transformation) strategies, to specialized terminology like the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM).
We invite you to use it as a reference when exploring our website or related materials.

  • JCM

The Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) is a bilateral cooperation framework through which Japan introduces advanced decarbonization technologies and equipment to partner countries. The resulting greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions or removals achieved in those countries are quantitatively measured and can be used toward Japan’s own national emission reduction targets.

  • GX-League

The GX League (Green Transformation League) is a framework initiated by the Japanese government to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. It brings together businesses, government agencies, and academic institutions to collaboratively promote decarbonization while simultaneously driving economic growth.

  • ICVCM

The Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM) is an independent international organization established to ensure the credibility and integrity of the voluntary carbon market. Its mission is to guarantee that carbon credits used for greenhouse gas emission reductions are both effective and trustworthy.

  • ISSB

The International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) is an organization that develops global standards for corporate sustainability disclosures.

The ISSB establishes internationally consistent IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, enabling companies to transparently and comparably report on their environmental (E), social (S), and governance (G) activities, risks, and opportunities.

These standards aim to help investors and stakeholders better understand non-financial information and use it in their decision-making processes.

  • SSBJ

The Sustainability Standards Board of Japan (SSBJ) is an organization responsible for developing sustainability disclosure standards for companies in Japan.

Established in July 2022, the SSBJ works to create Japan’s own standards while ensuring consistency and alignment with the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).
