Building a world of enduring ”grace” and thoughtful design.

We cultivate integrity, not just outcomes. We believe that a truly graceful system is one that all stakeholders can stand behind—a mechanism designed to endure.

2015 Founded

Founded in March 2015 in Chiyoda, Tokyo.

Inspired by the Japanese government’s 2013 launch of the JCM Equipment Subsidy Program, founder Tomonori Kimura started the company to drive decarbonization and create high-integrity carbon credits.

18/31 Countlies

There are 31 JCM partner countries today, and we see opportunities in 18 of them.

We’ve steadily built a track record across Southeast Asia, Central Asia, South America, and South Asia.

1 Subsidiary

In November 2023, we established TOMONI in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.TOMONI develops decarbonization projects under a BOOT (Build, Own, Operate & Transfer) model.

It leverages our high-integrity carbon-credit generation services.

Customer Map and the Value We Deliver

Who we deliver what to: maximize value through Project Financing x Credit Issuance x Premium Sales.

Asian Gateway's Three Core Strengths

To lead complex, large-scale decarbonization projects to success, we leverage and integrate our three core strengths to maximize value. This integrated approach is the foundation of our business, turning concepts into tangible value.

Financing Power

We combine our proprietary JTCF (Just Transition Carbon Facility)with blended finance to optimize the cost of capital. This improves our clients' capital efficiency and allows them to bring investment decisions forward.

End-to-End Execution Power

We deliver projects from origination to value realization. As an arranger and orchestrator, AG manages the entire process—from feasibility studies, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), and O&M (Operations & Maintenance) through to MRV (Measurement, Reporting, and Verification)—to bring projects to fruition. Our practical capabilities, honed through the JCM, minimize the risk of issuance failure and ensure we keep to the schedule.

Profit-Return Power

We leverage our domestic and global networks to sell the credits we generate at a premium, returning the profits to project owners, investors, and local communities. This "Win-win-win flywheel effect" creates a virtuous cycle that fuels the next sustainable initiative.

Our Managing Directors

Leading Asian Gateway's challenge is a management team with extensive practical experience. We are a team of professionals with many years of experience on the front lines of international finance, renewable energy, and overseas business development. By fusing our respective expertise and global perspectives, we are powerfully advancing our business toward a sustainable future.

Tomonori KIMURA

Founder & CEO

He established Asian Gateway Corporation (AG) in Tokyo in 2015. Previously, as a consultant at PwC specializing in decarbonization strategy, JCM (Joint Crediting Mechanism) design and implementation, and renewable energy development, he provided end-to-end support from policy design to business implementation. Based on this practical experience, he has built a "implementation-oriented" collaborative framework that connects the optimal partners for each project, leveraging a broad and deep network that extends from government agencies, corporations, financial institutions, and research institutes in Japan and abroad to trusted relationships at the individual level. As a result, collaboration across the entire value chain—including financing, methodology/MRV development, and credit issuance/distribution—has accelerated, establishing AG as a strategic hub that can oversee and lead the entire JCM ecosystem. He will continue to link climate value to business value by creating highly effective projects and bridging the private and public sectors.

Norihiko KATO

Vice President & COO

A seasoned banking executive with over 40 years of experience in corporate banking, strategic leadership, and sustainable finance. After holding key roles at MUFG Bank, he served as CEO for institutions including Golomt Bank, where he successfully led turnarounds of financially distressed banks. He has also spearheaded large-scale business restructurings and post-merger integrations, significantly growing assets and profitability. In addition to his success in leading Golomt Bank's IPO and its inaugural international bond issuance, he has also contributed deeply to banking associations and sustainability initiatives in both Mongolia and Cambodia. His extensive experience and proven track record are a vital foundation supporting our company's financial strategy and international credibility.

Our Business Structure, Powered by an AI Agent Platform

Our strength is our ability to integrate the entire value chain—from financing (JTCF) and project execution (PMO) to high-quality credit sales (Market). We have reorganized these strengths into functions and operate our business with the following three Business Units at the core.

At a glance of solid track records in JCM field

Since its establishment in 2015, Asian Gateway has been promoting decarbonization with partners around the world, utilizing the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM). The following are our main achievements in the renewable energy and energy efficiency fields.

Mongolia

Solar Power and Battery

The power plant, which is set to come online in 2024, represents 2% of Mongolia's peak electricity demand. In Phase II, the expansion project will integrate an additional solar power plant and a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to support the deployment of renewable energy, increase grid stability and reduce CO2 emissions.

Chile

Rice Husk Biomass Power Plant

La Gloria developed the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) system for the disposal of 35,000 tons/y of rice husks in Parral, Chile. In 2023, it became the first project of its kind in Latin America. The generated power is supplied to an electric company, reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Cambodia

Rooftop PV at International School of Phnom Penh

The objective of the project is to reduce grid electricity consumption and contribute to lower greenhouse gas emissions by introduction of the 200kW ultra-lightweight solar power generation system on the rooftop and the self-consumption of the generated electricity.

Sri Lanka

Utility-Scale Solar Power System

Mahiyangana, located in the Badulla District, Uva Province, Sri Lanka, is a town on the banks of the Mahaweli River. ZUC Corporation Lanka (Pvt) Ltd has secured 28 acres (11.33 hectares) of land in this town and will develop a 10MW (AC) solar power generation system.

Toward Carbon Neutrality

Initiatives to Achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2050 and our FY2030 Reduction Targets

Cumulative GHG Emission Reductions of  4,000,000 tons
(Interim Reduction Target by 2030)

We will expand our annual CO2/GHG emission reductions year by year, from approximately 32,000 tons in 2024, to approach 600,000 tons annually by 2030. We have set a target for cumulative CO2/GHG emission reductions to reach 4 million tons by 2030.

Cumulative GHG Emission Reductions of  25,000,000 tons

(Reduction Target by 2050)

We will expand our annual CO2/GHG emission reductions year by year, from approximately 32,000 tons in 2024, to approach 1 million tons annually by 2050. We have set a target for cumulative CO2/GHG emission reductions to reach 25 million tons by 2050.
